“Every child is a different kind of flower, and together they make this world a beautiful garden.” 🌸 Those words welcomed families to the second parent teacher meeting of the year at LAKSH International School, Vijaynagar Colony, and they captured the spirit of the whole day.
Parents, teachers and students came together to celebrate progress, talk honestly about the road ahead and cheer for our class toppers. It was a reminder that a child’s education is at its best when home and school work as one team.

Parent Teacher Meeting 2 at LAKSH Vijaynagar Colony
Our Vijaynagar Colony campus held its Parent Teacher Meeting 2 on 18 September 2026. From the moment families walked in, the school was ready to welcome them: black and gold balloons, a colourful “Welcome to Parent-Teacher Meeting 2” board, and a heartfelt “Thank you for your valuable presence” message from our students and staff.
The parent teacher meeting was planned around three simple goals:
- Share each child’s progress clearly and honestly, with real examples of their work.
- Celebrate achievement, from academic toppers to children who have grown in confidence.
- Agree on next steps together, so that parents and teachers pull in the same direction for the rest of the term.
Parents moved from classroom to classroom, met their child’s teachers, looked through notebooks and project work, and asked the questions that mattered most to them.
7 Amazing Highlights of the Day
Every parent teacher meeting at LAKSH is more than a report-card handover. Here are the moments that made this one special.
1. A Warm Welcome for Every Family
Our students and teachers decorated the entrance with balloons, handmade posters and inspiring messages such as “Together, we support young minds to grow” and “Bright future”. Small touches like these tell parents something important: you are welcome here, and you are part of this school.
2. One-on-One Progress Conversations
The heart of any parent teacher meeting is the conversation. Parents sat down with teachers and our academic team to go through their child’s strengths, the areas that need more practice, and practical ways to help. These conversations were honest, specific and focused on the child, never on comparison.

3. Celebrating Our Class Toppers 🏆
One of the proudest moments of the day was the Topper Awards. Students who topped their classes were called up and presented with gleaming “Topper” trophies by our management, in front of the Parent-Teacher Meeting 2 board. From our youngest learners in Nursery to students in Grade 5, the smiles and thumbs-up said it all. You will find every achiever’s name in the Honour Roll below.
4. Parents Joined the Fun: “Show Your Drawing Skills”
Learning is not only for children! A “Show Your Drawing Skills” activity wall invited parents to pick up a marker and complete simple drawings: a sun, a house, an apple, a slice of watermelon. It brought back childhood memories, sparked a lot of laughter and gave parents a small taste of the creative activities their children enjoy every week.

5. Student Work on Display
The corridors were full of student work: posters on future scientists, festival displays, study tips and inspiring quotes. For many parents, seeing their child’s work on the wall was the best progress report of all.
6. Setting Goals for the Rest of the Term
Every conversation ended with a few clear, achievable goals: reading for 20 minutes a day, practising multiplication tables, improving handwriting, or speaking up more in class. Small goals, agreed together, are the ones children actually reach.
7. Listening to Parents
A parent teacher meeting works in both directions. Parents shared what they see at home, what their children enjoy, what worries them and what they would like the school to do differently. That feedback helps us keep improving.
Honour Roll: Achievers Celebrated at the Parent Teacher Meeting
Along with progress reports, this parent teacher meeting celebrated three groups of achievers. Congratulations to every child named below, and to the parents and teachers who stand behind them! 🎉

A Message to Our Achievers and Every Child
To the children on these lists: your hard work shows, and we are proud of you. Keep being curious, keep asking questions and keep helping your friends.
To every other child: the next parent teacher meeting is another chance to shine. Awards are wonderful, but the most important thing is that you keep learning, keep improving and keep enjoying school. Every teacher at LAKSH is cheering for you. 💪
Why the Parent Teacher Meeting Matters
Children do best when the adults around them are working together. A parent teacher meeting gives parents and teachers the chance to:
- 🔍 See the full picture: teachers see the child in class, while parents see the child at home. Both views matter.
- 🎯 Catch small problems early: a gap in reading or maths is far easier to fix in the second term than in the final exam.
- 💬 Build trust: when parents and teachers know each other, children feel supported from both sides.
- 🌟 Motivate the child: children notice when their parents take an interest in school. It tells them their learning matters.
At LAKSH this idea sits at the heart of our Three-Cornered Approach, a partnership between parents, teachers and students. Every parent teacher meeting is one of the most important moments in that partnership. It also reflects the vision of India’s National Education Policy 2020, which highlights the role of parents and communities in children’s learning.
How to Make the Most of Every Parent Teacher Meeting
A parent teacher meeting usually lasts only a few minutes per family, so a little preparation goes a long way. Here is a simple plan any parent can follow.
Before the meeting:
- 📝 Talk to your child. Ask which subjects they enjoy, which ones feel hard, and whether anything is worrying them.
- 📚 Look through recent notebooks, test papers and homework.
- ✍️ Write down two or three questions you most want answered.
During the meeting:
- 👂 Listen first, then ask your questions.
- 🔎 Ask for examples. “Can you show me where she is struggling?” is more useful than “How is she doing?”
- 🤝 Agree on one or two things you will do at home and one or two things the teacher will do in class.
After the meeting:
- 💛 Share the positives with your child first. Every child has strengths worth celebrating.
- 🗓️ Turn the goals into a simple daily routine.
- 📞 Stay in touch with the class teacher. You do not need to wait for the next parent teacher meeting to ask a question.
10 Questions to Ask at a Parent Teacher Meeting
Not sure what to ask? These questions help parents get the most useful answers:
- What are my child’s biggest strengths in class?
- Which subject or topic needs the most attention right now?
- How does my child participate in class discussions and activities?
- Does my child complete homework on time and with care?
- How does my child get along with classmates?
- Is my child reading at the right level for their age?
- What is one thing I can do at home every day to help?
- How can I support my child before the next exams?
- Are there any clubs, competitions or activities my child should try?
- What is the best way to contact you if I have a concern?
Save this list and bring it to your next parent teacher meeting. You will leave with a clear plan instead of a general “doing well”.
Supporting Your Child at Home After the Meeting
What happens after a parent teacher meeting matters just as much as the meeting itself. These simple habits make a real difference: For a step-by-step routine, try our 30-day plan after a PTM, shared at PTM 2 in our Razvi Chaman campus.
- ⏰ A fixed study time: the same time and the same quiet place every day builds focus.
- 📖 Daily reading: even 15 to 20 minutes of reading a day improves vocabulary, comprehension and confidence.
- 📵 Screen time with limits: balance screens with outdoor play, family time and good sleep.
- 🗣️ Talk about school: ask “What did you learn today?” or “What made you laugh at school?” instead of just “How was school?”
- 👏 Praise effort, not just marks: children who feel their hard work is noticed keep working hard.
- 🍎 Healthy routines: a good breakfast, enough water and a regular bedtime help children concentrate in class.
